Wearing a Head Band to Shape a Babies Head

I personally hate them. I think they look ridiculous on babies, especially when the baby has no hair. I do get that some mums want people to know their baby is a girl by putting headbands on them but can't they just wear a dress or pink outfit instead. I don't mind little clips holding a few hairs out of their eyes to add a girly touch but headbands look so uncomfortable.
At baby group today there was a baby girl with a leopard print headband with an oversized bow covering half her head. The baby pulled the headband off and the poor baby had a red indent all the way around her head from the headband. The mum just put it straight back on her whilst baby was trying to resist. Surely these headbands can't be good for the babys soft head if its leaving marks.
I know I have boys but even if I have a girl I wouldn't put these headbands on her whether she had a full head of hair or as bald as an egg.

I have 2 girls and would never put them in a headband as a baby. Apart from clearly being unecessary and uncomfortable they look so tacky.might aswell finish off the look with a leopard
Print track suit and a blinged up dummy clip to match!

I like to wear headbands because they keep my ears covered but I don't get too warm. When I get migraines or earache I find them very comforting.
If I had a DD I would perhaps but her in one for similar reasons, i.e in and out of shops so not wanting to overheat in a hat but to still have head warmth or they had an ear infection. Not sure i'd stick them in one for fashion though, not that it's my business if someone else did.

I've only ever put one headband on my daughter but that was when she was about 1 and a half. It was a thin one but it left little marks on her head so never put one on her again. Personally i don't like the over the top big headbands with bows etc.

I think the low key ones look nice enough, it is the ones where there is a flower as big as the babies head that look funny IMO.
I did put a headband on my DD though, despite dressing her in a dress with a pink coat and a fairy blanket, I still used to get "Aww how old is he?!"
She still doesn't have much hair lol

I never personally put them on my daughters when they were babies but my mum would put them on DD1 cos she liked her to look girly
I don't mind them on an older baby with hair. I don't see point in them on a newborn and babies with no hair. saying that my niece is 2 and a half and is bauld
I don't like the oversized cheap tacky looking ones.

The ones with massive flowers the size of the baby head just make me think to myself what a cute flower you have rather than what a cute baby. Especially when the flower is positioned so you barely see babys face.
I do quite like the plain knitted or crochet ones as they tend to be quite lose and not stay on all the time. Its the really over the top or tight looking ones I hate. I don't get how people can put something so tight on their babys head that it leaves quite a big indent when its taken off. I do wonder if long term use of tight headbands on young babies could have a lasting effect on their head shape, like giving them a permanent indent or something.

Personally i don't like them as they always look uncomfortable, and i think anything that makes a baby uncomfortable is completely unnecessary

You see the flower before you see the baby underneath it!

I've always put headbands on my DD 15months as I think they look lovely on her. The ones she wears are a very thin band and just a little something on them about the size of a 10p. She's always had a lot of hair so it wasn't because of the lack of hair, I just think they look nice and she has never minded wearing them (never pulls them off and I make sure they aren't to tight before I buy them). Im not so keen on the big ones and have never put one on DD and the designs I go for are actually quite plain, each to there own though I guess x

To be fair the ones that always thought she was a boy were little old ladies, maybe their eyesight wasn't great.
