The latest Elder Scrolls Online chapter is finally here for PC players, and after a delay for the release on NA servers fans are heading to the never-before-seen location of High Isle and its sister island Amenos. The new chapter adds a ton to Elder Scrolls Online, but to experience any of it you have to get to High Isle first.

ESO veterans are used to the way new Chapters work and won't have trouble finding out how to start Elder Scrolls Online High Isle. However, new players and fans returning to ESO after years away may have a harder time getting to the start of the new ESO Chapter. Keep in mind that to play any of the new content on High Isle you need to own the new Chapter - the most recent Chapter for ESO is never included with ESO Plus, so be sure to purchase the High Isle upgrade before attempting to head to this Breton resort.

Before Starting The Chapter, Complete The Prologue

Elder Scrolls Online High Isle Chapter Prologue Quest

Like most Elder Scrolls Online Chapters, players can take on a sort of prologue quest that sets up the story and characters of the High Isle Chapter. This quest re-introduces Jakarn and Lady Arrabelle, a major character in the story of High Isle.

To begin the prologue for High Isle, head to the Collections tab and look for the "Quest Starters" tab. Scroll through the options and look for an entry titled "Ascending Doubt". Select this Quest Starter and you will be guided towards Jakarn to uncover the beginnings of the next major threat to Tamriel.

How To Start The High Isle Chapter

Once the prologue quest and its follow-up have been completed players are rewarded with the Glimmer Dust emote, used during the questline to dispel magic from the tampered amulets.

After this, players are guided towards High Isle to continue the story, but no direct path is presented like the cart next to Jakarn for the prologue. There are three ways to get to High Isle: by Wayshrine, by boat, or by starting a new ESO character.

Get To High Isle By Wayshrine

On the very far left of the world map, west of Glenumbra, players can just about make out the small island that is High Isle (and Amenos). To get there by Wayshrine, zoom in on this location and select the Wayshrine in Gonfalon Bay - you don't need to have visited this Wayshrine, as it comes unlocked with the DLC.

Get To High Isle By Boat

To get to High Isle by boat, head to your faction's capital and look for an NPC near the docks who can take you to High Isle. The easiest way to do this quickly is to take the "Of Knights and Knaves" quest from the DLC tab of the Collections menu, as this will guide you directly towards the nearest fast-travel point to High Isle. If you have a hard time, look on the world map for the name of the NPC you are supposed to talk to for travel to High Isle, as the locations each Boatswain can take you to are listed under their name.

Choose High Isle As Your Starting Location

After starting a new character in Elder Scrolls Online and completing the relatively short tutorial, players are presented with a room full of portals to numerous zones in Tamriel and beyond. Here, players can choose almost anywhere to begin their adventure, thanks also to ESO's player-leveled world systems. Choose High Isle as your starting zone to get right into the new Chapter from the get-go.

The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isle is available for PC, and will be available for Playstation and Xbox systems on June 21, 2022
